Guerra King Sponsors "Bridging the DEI Gap in Law Documentary"

Guerra King was a proud Bronze Sponsor of the “Bridging the DEI Gap in Law Documentary” premiere event on Wednesday, April 26th at the Chester Ferguson Law Center. This groundbreaking film is a follow-up to the “Before the Law was Equal” documentary and features interviews from some of our community’s brightest legal stars and their accounts on how diversity, equity, and inclusion has progressed in our community. Chemere Ellis and George Guerra attended the premiere event and Ailen Cruz was part of the planning committee.

Guerra King Celebrates International Transgender Day of Visibility

March 31 is International Transgender Day of Visibility, an annual celebration of transgender and nonbinary people and a commemoration of the worldwide discrimination against this vulnerable population. The term “transgender” refers to someone whose gender differs from the sex they were assigned at birth, and “nonbinary” refers to those who do not identify as either a man or a woman or are not strictly one or the other.

Guerra King Celebrates Black History Month

The highlight of Black History Month, however, came with Guerra King’s sponsorship of the Black History Month Reception hosted by the George Edgecomb Bar Association and the Fred G. Minnis, Sr. Bar Association on February 28. The Reception was awe-inspiring as Doretha Edgecomb discussed the life and legacy of her late husband, Judge George Edgecomb, who became the first black judge in Hillsborough County in 1973 at just 31 years old. Judge Edgecomb died tragically just a few years later at the age of 33, but his short life created a legacy that transcends time.
