Guerra & Partners Forms Diversity and Inclusion Committee

Guerra & Partners is pleased to announce the formation of our Diversity and Inclusion Committee. The Committee is Chaired by Ailen Cruz and includes members from every part of the Guerra & Partners team: shareholders, associates, paralegals, and legal assistants. The Committee’s mission is to promote and support diversity within our firm, to encourage opportunities for our employees to grow in their own understanding of diversity, and to promote equal opportunity for all to better represent the communities we serve.

The Committee has secured Guerra & Partners as a Gold Sponsor for the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s 12th Annual Diversity & Inclusion Networking Social. The Networking Social connects law students with attorneys, judges, and members of local legal organizations in a casual, friendly, and low-pressure environment while promoting diversity and inclusion in our profession. The virtual Networking Social is on Saturday, March 27, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and is free to attend.

Guerra & Partners is proud to renew its Gold level sponsorship for the George Edgecomb Bar Association’s (GEBA) 38th Annual Scholarship Banquet on April 26, 2021. GEBA is Tampa’s largest predominately African American voluntary bar association and is dedicated to the promotion and recognition of African Americans within the legal profession and the judiciary. GEBA’s theme for the 2020-2021 bar year is aptly “Pressing Forward Together During Challenging Times.”

GEBA’s Scholarship Program and its community partners have awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to college-bound students in Hillsborough County, and Guerra King is honored to play a role in this cause. This year’s Scholarship Banquet will feature keynote speaker Artis Stevens, the first African American President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
