Guerra King Attorneys Provide Pro Bono Representation To Civil Rights Plaintiff

Earlier this year, Guerra King attorneys volunteered to assist an inmate pro bono on a 42 U.S. Code § 1983 matter that survived summary judgment and would soon be scheduled for trial.  The plaintiff had suffered long lasting physical and mental health injuries as a result of a sexual solicitation and physical assault while incarcerated. Guerra King attorneys Chemere Ellis, Ailen Cruz, and Kim Koves (the “GK team”) volunteered to represent the plaintiff.

The GK team successfully dealt with various complex discovery issues, including petitioning the Court to reopen discovery and seeking remedies for the spoliation of crucial evidence. The GK team then participated in a settlement conference before a Magistrate Judge and settled the matter for their client. Guerra King is very proud of this result and supports its attorneys’ pro bono efforts.
