Chemere Ellis Joins Guerra & Partners

Guerra & Partners is pleased to announce the addition of Chemere Ellis as an associate with the firm. A seasoned trial attorney, Chemere has represented the interests of the people of the State of Florida, government agencies, corporations, and individuals, among others. Chemere has served as lead counsel in forty jury trials and has served in the supervisory role of Lead Trial Attorney in the county courts of Pinellas County. Her diverse experiences include criminal law, personal injury law, and civil litigation in the financial services industry in five U.S. jurisdictions. Chemere’s successes in high leverage cases, including convictions in first degree felony cases, have prepared her well for representing the firm’s clients and have provided her familiarity in dealing with government regulators and prosecutors in complex matters.

Chemere earned her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law, where she competed in the university’s oral advocacy competition and also earned the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. Chemere completed her undergraduate studies at Seton Hall University, where she earned the magna cum laude designation in obtaining her B.S. with double majors in Business Finance and English Literature.

Chemere will bring her breadth and depth of experience in advising the firm’s clients in commercial litigation, criminal defense, receivership, and financial services matters in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory enforcement.

Chemere and her husband reside in Hillsborough County and are parents to two energetic and curious boys. Together, they enjoy cooking and eating traditional cuisine from Chemere’s native country of Jamaica and travelling internationally.
