Today is “ADA Day,” the 32^nd anniversary of the U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Fourth of July celebrates the founding of the United States when, on this date in 1776, members of the Second Continental Congress signed the Declaration of Independence.

World Refugee Day falls each year on June 20 and is dedicated to refugees around the globe. World Refugee Day was held globally for the first time on June 20, 2001, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees. World Refugee Day shines a light on the rights, needs and dreams of refugees, helping to mobilize political will and resources so refugees can not only survive but also thrive.

Juneteenth (i.e. June 19, 1865) honors the end of slavery in the United States. It commemorates the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to ensure that all enslaved people were free from bondage.

June is Pride Month and June 28 is Pride Day.  They recognize the dignity of our family, coworkers, and friends who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer. 

Guerra & Partners’ Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee was thrilled to help plan and sponsor the Second Annual Diversity Fair, which occurred on May 20, 2022 at the Hillsborough County Bar Association Building in Tampa.

This month, Guerra & Partners is pleased to recognize Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month and celebrate the history, heritage, and contributions those with AAPI heritage have made to enrich America’s history. This group is made up of individuals with backgrounds from Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, Hawaiian Islands, Midway Islands, Samoa, Guam, Fiji, and more.

Guerra & Partners’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is proud to announce its support of and participation in GEBA’s Learn Your Rights Community Workshop, which will occur on May 21, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event will be held at Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2101 Lowe Street Tampa FL 33605.
